Choosing your wedding colors can be difficult. Everyone wants colors that stay true to their personality, but are also timeless and trendy. A few ways to find the perfect color are:

• By picking your favorite flower. Once you have found your favorite flower, you can then pick a shade of that the flower comes in. Then, voilà you have found one of your wedding colors!
• Pick the first color that comes to mind when you describe your personality, or your fiance. Is there a significant color that reminds you of your relationship?

If you decide to go a more trendy route, for this fall/winter here are come options:

• Try mint. By choosing a color you can add green to your color scheme without it looking like a forest.
• Pastels have been extremely popular this year, you will be seeing that trend carry on until next year. You don’t want to use light pastels, instead use more vibrant versions such as yellow, coral, burnt orange, etc.
• Sunset colors, we love this trend! I love the contrast of the dark and light colors together. Although the flowers may be difficult to get your hands on, it’s worth it!
• Last but not least you will be seeing a LOT of ombre. You will see larger centerpieces to show case the effect. You will see ombre on stages, linens, stationary, the lights, everywhere! It had even become a huge trend in the south asian fashion world. Many brides are choosing multi colored gradient/ombre dyed fabric.

Many couples have a hard time deciding whether to register or not. Although there are many benefits to it, it can also be a huge hassle and a source of stress. When trying to decide to register of not,  here are some questions to ask yourself:

• How many guests are you having?
• Will your guests actually get items off of your registry?
• Are the items you want in different price ranges so everyone can afford something?
• Where do you want register?
• Are you prepared to return items after the wedding?
• Are you moving?

Typically it’s not a good idea to register when you have more than 100 guests attending your wedding. You may get multiples of one item, and you may get nonreturnable gifts that are not on the registry. If you choose to register, make sure some of your items are under $50 to make it easier on your guests. Don’t be that person who only registered items over $150, no one likes that person. When picking the place you register  make sure they have at least 30 day return policy, Macy’s, Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn are always great options. Be prepared to return items after your wedding, it’s inevitable. If you are moving and want to register you can have all the gifts shipped to your new address. But we feel it’s best not to register.

So what is your best option if you opt out of registering without getting tacky gifts? On the invitation print “The couple kindly requests no boxed gifts”. This is always the easiest way to go. You don’t have to worry about returns, horrible gifts, or transporting the gifts to your home. Also if you have already lived on your own, or with your fiance, than no boxed gifts are great. You can use the cash for whatever you like and the gift cards are great for getting those fun items for your happily ever after. What do you think about registering?

Pantone named Tangerine Tango (a fabulous reddish orange) color of the year for 2012!  The color in of itself exudes confidence. You will be seeing it everywhere from home decor, to events, to fashion. Many may think the color is too bold a choice to use, but bold is all the rage right now! If you find it difficult to use color in your daily life, try using a hint of it. For fashion, trying adding Tangerine Tango into your life with your shoes, a small clutch, some jewelry or makeup. For events such as birthdays and weddings, pillows, napkins, flowers and lanterns are are fantastic ways to add that small pop of Tangerine Tango. As some of you may know, the owner and main deisgner at Kismet (Saadia Kibriya) was on HGTV’s “The White Room Challenge”! The show consists of four new designers every episode, and Saadia was picked to be one of them. Each designer is given a white room, a carpenter, and 15 hours to create an innovate room. But, the challenge is the suprise element. Each episode has a new suprise element in which the designers must use, and Saadia got to use her specialty, flowers!  If you haven’t already seen it, check your local listings to watch the episode!
